Before we dive into my recommendations, here are some facts about me and my yoga practice for context:
I’ve been practicing yoga since 2015.
I practice about 3-4 times a week.
I consider myself Intermediate-Advanced and I prefer power Vinyasa classes.
👑 Top Pick: Yoga with Adriene♀️🛍️
Cost: Free-ninety-nine!
Find it on YouTube
Review: When I'm not in the yoga studio, I'm following "Yoga with Adriene" at home. Adriene believes that everyone should have access to free, high-quality yoga. She has hundreds of videos for every kind of need, ranging from a "30 Day Yoga Series" (great for accountability) to “Yoga for Anxiety & Stress.” Whatever you’re looking for, Adriene’s got you. If you’re lucky, her dog Benji might make an appearance. They also have a website where they offer paid courses and bonus content.
Alternative Pick: Down Dog
Cost: Free and Paid version
Find it on Google Play or Apple Store
Review: The free version offers enough variety for someone who just wants to get a practice in. You can choose your level and length of the video. They often run 33% off the yearly subscription and they offer other options than yoga.
My favorite feature is being able to download the sessions so I can play them anywhere without relying on the internet (I did this while traveling in Costa Rica!).
Yoga Mats for Every Budget
Whether you're looking for your first mat or a new one, I've got your back (pun intended):
Bougie on a Budget Pick
Cost: $$
Review: I've used this Manduka mat for more than 2 years and it's my favorite yoga mat by far (even more than Lululemon mats). It's perfect for travel; it's super light and thin. Usually, I prefer a thicker mat for my wrists, but this mat is comfortable and the texture is quite grippy! Manduka is a great brand so you can't go wrong.
Tight Budget Pick
Cost: $
Review: Gaiam is a good brand for beginners. If you need grip support, consider using a microfiber towel on top of your mat. Sometimes you can find Gaiam yoga mats for around $15 at TJMaxx or use the link above.
Free-Ninety-Nine Pick
Towels!
Review: Don't want to buy a yoga mat? Use a long towel, preferably a microfiber towel, or even a beach towel. Yoga is about meeting you where you are. Even if that means using what's already in your house.
Like a typical Libra, I can be indecisive when I'm buying things. That's why I only recommend products and services that I absolutely love. This post may contain affiliate links. If you use these links to buy something I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!
